Even the good life can be confusing

There’s just so much good stuff going on in some people’s lives that they can’t keep up with it all.

LoriAnn Lowery is one of those lucky folks.

Lowery was named president of Lloyd’s America in April after a 20-year career in insurance.

She told the company’s Kentucky agents last week at Keeneland that she is a sixth-generation Texan, a graduate of the University of Texas and a devoted Longhorns football fan.

That love of football caused some confusion earlier in the week, Lowery said.

On Monday, she got back to her Chicago office after a business trip and was greeted with “Congratulations!” by several staffers.

The greeting was justified, since Texas had just beaten rival Oklahoma and moved up to No. 1.

“No, not that!” a confused staffer finally told her. They were congratulating her on her upcoming marriage.

“Oh, the marriage!” Lowery replied. “That’s great, too.”

You’ve got to wonder though. Horns or husband, which one will be No. 1?
